🐟🔥 Perfect Healthy Dinner: Crispy Grilled Salmon Steak & Fresh Salad That Tastes Way Too Good to Be “Healthy”!

The citrus brings brightness.

The garlic adds aroma.

The smoked paprika gives the salmon a subtle smoky character before it even reaches the grill.

Brush the mixture generously over the salmon steaks.

Let them marinate for about 15–30 minutes in the refrigerator.

You don’t need to marinate salmon for hours.

In fact, an overly long acidic marinade can affect the texture of the fish.

🥗 Step 3: Make the Fresh Salad

While the salmon is marinating, prepare the salad.

Add the mixed greens to a large bowl.

Then add the cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, fresh herbs, and sliced chili if you’re using it.

For a more substantial meal, add avocado.

Now make the dressing.

Whisk together olive oil, lemon or lime juice, honey, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper.

Don’t pour the dressing over the salad yet.

Wait until just before serving.

That way, the greens stay crisp instead of becoming soggy.

🔥 Step 4: Get Your Grill Seriously Hot

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400–450°F.

Clean the grates thoroughly.

Then lightly oil them.

This is especially important with salmon because the natural oils in the fish can cause sticking if the grill isn’t properly prepared.

Give the grill time to heat completely.

You want the salmon to make a satisfying sizzle the second it touches the grates.

🐟 Step 5: Grill the Salmon

Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let excess marinade drip off.

Place the salmon steaks on the hot grill.

Cook for approximately 4–6 minutes per side, depending on their thickness and your grill’s temperature.

Try not to move them constantly.

Let the salmon sit undisturbed so the surface has time to develop those beautiful grill marks.

After several minutes, carefully flip each steak using a wide spatula or fish turner.

The second side should cook more quickly.
